Lost In Translation is full of beautiful textures and moody vibes. I think it's the perfect blend of heaven and hell and is by far my best work.
HOW DID THIS ALBUM COME TO BE?
Well, I originally wanted to create an extremely long and artsy 3 part album. I also wanted to use my time living and studying in London to influence my work. After a year or so I realized the emotions I was trying to capture were literally lost in translation to music. So I did some re-thinking and started weeding out the tracks that I felt were just "clutter" and was left with most of what LIT is now.
WHAT IS THE THEME OF THE ALBUM?
Lost in Translation is a very pretty album. It's full of beautiful textures and moody vibes. I use music as a way to express what I can't express in words and also to deal with demons I fight with. With that in mind, I think it's the perfect blend of heaven and hell and is by far my best work.
CAN WE EXPECT THAT HARD-HITTING XELAZEN SOUND?
Honestly, no, not really. I mean, there's some heavy in Drowning (a track I had Sam Holmes sing over) but even that's more pretty than heavy. I wanted to deviate from heavy dubstep and dance music to make something that struck more emotional chords with people.
